Juve to the semifinals; Fiorentina come back

Juve to the Coppa Italia semifinals, Fiorentina and Cremonese to the quarterfinals, while Empoli and Napoli are heading home.

The Italian Cup does not give Juventus a break, which, despite another 0-0 draw, reaches the semi-finals of the competition, where it will face Inter. In the first leg of the quarterfinals, played at the Allianz Stadium, the Bianconeri failed to beat Empoli once again, but this time the goalless draw was enough to qualify, after the 1-0 win in the first leg.

The match was played on a difficult pitch due to the rain that fell in Turin in the last few hours and ended without too many emotions, with Juventus struggling to create clear chances and Empoli defending with order. The Bianconeri had the best chances in the first half, with Kean hitting the post and Fagioli forcing Vicario to make a great save, while in the second half it was Empoli who went close to scoring with Vignato and Bajrami. In the end, however, the 0-0 draw was enough for Juve to reach the semi-finals, where they will face Inter, who beat Atalanta 1-0 in the other quarterfinal.

Fiorentina also qualified for the semi-finals, beating Torino 2-1 at the Franchi Stadium. The Tuscans took the lead in the first half with Jovic, but Torino equalized in the second half with Sanabria. In the final minutes, however, Ikone scored the winning goal, giving Fiorentina a place in the last four, where they will face Cremonese, who eliminated Roma on penalties.

Napoli, on the other hand, were eliminated by Cremonese, who won 2-1 at the Diego Armando Maradona Stadium. The Neapolitans took the lead with Politano, but the Serie A bottom club equalized with Ciofani and won the match with Afena-Gyan in extra time. Napoli's elimination is a big surprise, as the Azzurri are one of the favorites to win the competition.
